Adventures

The Girl from the North Country was the most recent play by Broadway SF.  I went with a friend.  Another friend had warned me that it was not good.

It was definitely my least favorite play of this season.  Even the writers notes said that the songs had nothing to do with the plot.  The first half was tolerable, but not great.  I had to sit through the second half so that I would know how it ended.  I wish I hadn't bothered.

I've been looking at the various pages on the blog.  While I am still considering moving to somewhere I that I find where I like the layout better, I realized that I haven't been writing much more than reviews lately.  I have had adventures, but I keep forgetting to write about them.  Shame on me.

I've gone to several musicals.  I went to the Pac 12 tournament in Las Vegas in March.  I've been to the aquarium lately.  These things are fairly normal adventures.  I have had my typical adventures of odd interactions with random people.

I was at the grocery store and there was only one line open, with about 20 people in it.  The woman in front of me told me all about her life from childhood until current times.  She was 83 and it felt like I was living the story in real-time.   The most interesting part was the treatment for her sciatica.  That was when I realized I was about to crack.  Of course, the moment I started to put my groceries on the belt, they opened two more check out lines.  Timing is everything.

I went out to watch Women's basketball last night at Stanford.  It is such a fun time.

Unfortunately, I wore the colors of my own alma mater - purple and gold.  Both teams were red.  I was easy to spot in the crowd.  There are worse things in life than standing out in a crowd.

I took a random day off work.  It was a slow day.  It was raining.  There was coverage at work.  Seemed like a perfect, quiet day to hang out at home.

I got out of bed, showered, and put on clean pajamas.  I did not feel guilty once I made the final decision to stay home.  I had friends ask me to leave the house and I said no.  It was a PJs day.  That is the way it is.  I don't go out in my PJs.  It scares the neighbors.  My family has to deal with my PJs, but they are an acceptable casualty of my PJS.

Yesterday, I had a long day.  I had bookclub scheduled for 11am an hourish away from home.  I left home at 9:30 in order to return library books and to get coffee on the way.  After finding parking, I arrived a few minutes before the bookclub meeting, so that worked out perfectly.

After bookclub, a few of us went to get massages.  Then we went to see Wonka.  I truly enjoyed it.

We went to Shabu after the movie.  That was delicious!

Today, I was supposed to stay in my pajamas all day, but my daughter decided that I should go to the grocery store with her.  We did that and a Target run.  I was proud of us that we stuck to our list and stayed under budget.

After that, I straightened up a bit at home and started in on my writing and reading.  I will take the garbage bins out sometime this afternoon, but that's about all of the excitement I can handle for today.
