March 2025

March 1, 2025

March 1 already?

What in the world happened to February?  January was 86 days long, but February flew by!   I know it's a short month, but it really disappeared quickly.

I usually read a lot of books for Black History Month, but time just got away from me.  I'll post more during the rest of the year.

March should be a busy month, but hopefully it won't be crazy.  I have a few things here and there planned but nothing outrageous.  I'm putting finishing touches on upcoming vacations/trips and otherwise sticking close to home.

I recently hit 1000 followers on TikTok.  I haven't yet figured out what I am going to do with that, but I'm sure a plan will come to mind.

As of yesterday, I have read 28 of my planned 150 books for the year.  I'm hoping to keep on top of it, but I'm on track as of now.  Reviews to come soon, I hope.

Summer Song by Kevin Henkes - Review

Summer Song by Kevin Henkes

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I picked this up on a recommendation online.

I found the book just ok. The illustrations were wonderful and fully showed what the words were trying to say, but the book just didn't draw me in.

This book is just ok. I neither recommend nor not recommend it.

Cece Loves Science and Adventure by Kimberly Derting - Review

Cece Loves Science and Adventure by Kimberly Derting

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I picked this up because of a recommendation.

I found this book a little too advanced for the intended reader. It's great that kids learn these things, but I think that expectations are too high for the kids to understand yet. Maybe upon multiple reads.

I recommend this book for older children.

Fish and Wave by Sergio Ruzzier - Review

Fish and Wave by Sergio Ruzzier

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I picked this up because of a recommendation.

It was a cute little story about the coexistence of a fish and a wave. Not a lot to the story, but it was cute.

I recommend this book.
