Daadi Maa's Diary Of Secrets by Monita Kumari

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I picked this up in order to give an honest review.

I felt this story was a little heavy for a child. I am glad that the title mentions it's for big kids and adults.

I feel like I was let into the story in the middle. Some important facts weren't given until almost the end. I was disappointed that the child's stealing wasn't addressed and only his questions were answered. No discipline was given or even the fact that he stole from his grandmother was addressed.

The illustrations were wonderful! They went beautifully with the story.

I would recommend this story, but to a much older child or to an adult only.

Will's Adventure to the Candy Mountain by Gerry Haller

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I picked this book up to write an honest review.

I enjoyed the concept of this book, but I had a hard time getting past the cleanliness of a bunch of kids touching candy mountain and walking all over it. Also, where did they get the cups and spoons just by looking around.

I wasn't fond of several of the illustrations, the red licorice especially turned my stomach, since they reminded me of worms.

The story was mostly fun, and my adult head got in the way of what a child would like. I would recommend the book for a small child.

Sarah's Gene-ius Discovery by Sallana Brown

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I picked this up after winning it on a Goodreads giveaway.

This is a great story explaining DNA to children. The illustrations are great and the story is interesting. I loved that the scientist and the student were both female.

I highly recommend this book.
